Designing the Title

Image
My idea for the title effects takes an example from the highest-grossing movie of all time. In Avengers endgame, my idea is that we use the vanish into dust effect as one day our main character wakes up and she is all alone with he friend. I wish to have the black text fade in and come into a pile of dust. Just like when the characters of avengers infinity war faded away. The final title card would be in a sliver black text and then have the same effect.  I wish to also add the names of actors on items scattered on the scene. Eventually, the item becomes dust. Since the scenes will lack people as it's said to be a time where she is the only person left with her friend I have ideas to scatter the names around objects and even buildings. The barren setting can provide locations like on the side of a lone tree or on an empty road when we show the desolate place. All have the same dusting away effect or have the camera turn the corner and disappear.  When cutting past the neighborh

Fade to black.

Planning

Location: In the past the location of our filming has been an issue for our members. This time we decided to make the location something that was easy to do for all of us. It made the most sense to us that the location would be one of the group members homes and neighborhood. The project we intend to do is set in a house and neighborhood so that the location was not something we had to worry about. As of now the location of filming will be at the home of one of our group members Sean. His house and neighborhood provide us with adequate space for filming and bypass all of the hassle. the last places we used had entry fees and were far away which gave the group more opportunities for setbacks. As it is one of our members houses the availability is up to use which makes for a much more relaxing time. Our new planned location will allow us to relieve the project of the major setbacks we had faced in the prior projects. Participants: The participants for filming will be the three of our gr

The life of titles

Image
To start I am researching how my titles should look and appear. I sat down and googled about titles and came to 2 great websites.  The first one is to watch the titles,  https://www.watchthetitles.com/. We are researching this  website to get an idea of how opening sequences look. This website provides us with access to a lot of  opening sequences. Especially from the genre of coming of age setting titles sets a tone and story. We can see how titles are used in these  sequences. Then we can apply this to our film. The opening sequence is our final project. And title  design is crucial. So, getting ideas and examples from this website is very useful. We will refer to this if  we need ideas on how to design our titles. The second one was  https://www.artofthetitle.com/. We are researching this website  to focus more on the titles themselves. This website focuses more on the titles themselves. It also  goes into detail on the music choices. This website gives more information and opinions

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie? The element of this movie that we want to include in the final task is the mis-en-scene and the editing.     The movie uses acting to portray meaningful relationships and issues that real teenagers have to deal with sleeping. Peter Parker throughout the movie as to deal with the struggles of being a superhero and also a normal teenage kid. The title of the movie homecoming shows this as Peter is Spiderman also has to deal with that you can't date to help the clash between Peter's other life and normal life is that of 1 the watchers can connect you that we wish to include in our film. In the aspect of filming action movies always cut back and forth in high-tension moments to build dramatic effects and even  though it is not a drama we wish to include it in high-stress situations. What elements of the genre did the movie have that you like?  They use props and acting as a means to represent e

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie?  The element of this movie that we want to include in the final task is the mis-en-scene and the editing.    The movie uses acting to portray real-life struggles people go through as well as the flashbacks in time create a sense of living it all over again. The film takes place in a wild area and eventually urbanized and the diegetic sound present is a niche touch to the film. The acting was also a key feature as she went from being alone in the marsh to being put on trial in the deep of a city. Life flashes before her eyes and her backstory is told. The background shown gives it a sorrow tone. The filming technique makes it cut back between 2 different times and its great. It focuses on showing her growth and tugs at the heart strings. In the eyes of the audience she is growing up in front of them. Some people in the audience can most likely relate to her and the troubles she has been through. What e

What elements of the genre that you chose to  base your final task on does this movie have?         The genre we have chosen for our final task is coming of age. In this film A girl and brother dealing with their regular lives stumble upon their fathers work which deal with interplanetary travel.. Throughout this film they use mis-en-scene to show the teenagers and their struggles with their new found responsibilities as they are fated with saving. One the main characters Meg is dealing with the disappearance of her father. They use acting to portray the character as she struggles with regular problems as she grows from the situation happening. Her newfound Responsibility is used to deal with the conventional issues of teens in these films. The relationships between characters portrayed was very showing of a coming of age film and allowed the watcher to connect with the characters. The friendships and turmoil represented show the ups and downs of adolescence in convention with coming

Genre Decision Coming of Age

Image
First, we looked at thrillers. I was very intrigued by the elements. As I began thinking I was familiar with them in films I'd seen before. But as I kept thinking back to our pitch I felt that it didn't quite fit. The mis-en-scene is usually dramatic and sometimes gory. There's lots of suspense and anticipation. That's not the mood we want to create with this film. So we decided not to use this genre. Then came Comedy. At first, the elements seem very promising. The camera angles were definitely within our ability. However, when we got to sounds and dialogue we didn't think it would be necessary to make jokes all the time, especially on such a serious matter. I felt it would be too corny for our idea. So we decided not to go through with it.   Lastly, we chose to look at Coming of Age. I thought of this genre because our actors are teenagers. Additionally, the plot of the film had a lot to do with the common theme of Coming of Age movies where characters lose thei

Our Pitch

Image
Pitching our Ideas  Two star crossed lovers who part unwillingly but somehow reconnect. But one of them has moved on. A teen wakes up, gets ready for school but finds herself alone with her best friend. What happened? Where is everyone? For the first idea will we be able to do this? This time of year is really rainy. I don't know if it's possible for us to get the shot on time. Brianna is going to be out of town in Boston from the 16th to the 21st. Do we have time to shoot it. When are we all not busy? I think this will be too hard. I somewhat like the second idea better. I think we'll be able to execute this. Who's house will we do it at? Well, do we really need a house? Maybe it would be better if we did shoot in a house. Even after that scene is the outside presentable? What days could we all gather our one's house? If Brianna's out of town we can't do it there. It'll have to be Jack, Markel, or Sean. This should work.  After much deliberation we deci

What the groups looking like

Image
This time around some changes to the group have been made. The changes made have been by the choice if a single member. Randy who was a member of our group previously will not be returning to complete the final project with the group. He has decided to join a different group and that is fine. Brianna, Sean, and I will continue to do the final project by ourselves. The group dynamic has little changed. Randy had been helpful in our previous projects but the group will manage without him. Sean and Brianna still are both going to be editing and directing as am I. I will be acting and continuing in the lead role for the last project. Before this the second project had brought up some unneeded tension between group members. During the filming of our music video a lack of adequate planning lead to the group having to speedily find a solution to the issues at hand. After having to change roles and changing the original script of the video tension built up as a result. This tension was toxic

Hi this Jack Lynch again. I'm still an AS media student and I've finally gotten some needed experience. The time in Media has been fun. Throughout the year I have been able to complete projects to get ready for the final one. Each project has gotten me one step closer into Completing this class and I'm going to keep up the pace. Each project has given me a better look into the filmmaking world and its intricacies. While filming each project it gave me a real sense of the struggles of filming and the joy from creating your very own project. My first project the commercial gave me a great deal of insight. Learning the steps towards creation and the hiccups that come along the way. For time had almost did us in. The first attempt at the project was pushed until the last minute making it in by a small margin. I now understand the importance of the timing and setting when making film. This will be key towards completing the final project as it is the largest so far. If our timi
