The genre we chose

Image
Hey there! My group and I all intensely researched multiple genres to decide which would be the best to use. After carful consideration my group narrowed in down to the genres comedy, drama, and thriller. We then finally came to the conclusion that the drama genre would best suit our film idea. The other genres for example comedy would not work as well as it very hard to connect both intense drama and suspense with laughter and joy. The point in our film is to shock our audience with the plot twist and keep a high emotional intensity. Thriller is in also not the ideal genre as there is not an intent to scare the audience but more to spike emotions. We are also still high-school students with a limited budget and no movie equipment. This makes it very hard to do movies like thriller and keep them looking somewhat realistic. The unsuspecting plot twist found at the end of our film also inspired the pick of the drama genre. Both the thriller and comedy genres don’t get you ready for the p

Our Pitch

A coma patient comes to in a seemingly different life than he left , o r does he?   A little car accident, at most a minor inconvenience right?     Our first idea was pitch 1, we felt like it had a twist on cliché coma plots. This would be a coma patient who wakes up from his coma and realizes his life is falling apart (his girlfriend left him, his dog died, etc.) and then realizing he never woke up at all. To do this idea we would need access to some kind of medical equipment to create a hospital scene. It would also require a large cast to play the parts of people in this person’s life . A more extensive plot might be challenging to come up with , for example connecting the ideas on how the person in the coma’s life is falling apart. It would allow us to get creative with editing and foreshadowing which is intriguing, but ultimately the cons o f this idea outweigh the pros.    The second idea my group and I had was pitch number 2 which is about a boy who gets in a car cras

Group blog: Second take

This is Jack back again for an exciting new year of media studies. This year is looking to be even better than the last. As the start to the final project was coming I had to find myself a group. Last year there were so many things that went awry from the plans we had set. All of this was most significantly due to the chemistry we had in our group. Much of the issues cold have been fixed with better communication and group management. Many times were stressful because of the lack of participation by group members. times were tough because of the lack of compatibility the team had. This year I would like to correct my mistakes. So in that thought I decided to have a fresh start. This year I will be teaming up with brand new people that I have much more trust in the abilities of. The group will consist of Samantha, Lola and I. This team allows us to have separate but important roles that will let us get much more done. As a group we have much more strengths than weaknesses. As a collabo

Hi I am Jack lynch I am an AS Media Studies student. I was raised in south Florida and spent my entire life within the united states. I have been around the country a few times but have yet to cross the border to another country. For me the use of media is a way to grasp things that cant be experienced in real life. I use media as a way to be somewhere I've never been or a time in which I wasn't born into.  Its a way to connect with the things I normally wouldn't be able to. Its the Spanish movies I watch with my great grandma or the comedy I watch with my parents. It is a means for connection. Normally I wouldn't be able to connect with some of my family members do to the language barrier but through movies I get to feel what they are feeling even if there were no words exchanged. The emotion created from such experiences is universal and I wouldn't be able to have such a deep connection otherwise. Another important aspect of media that I find myself drawn to is s
